Hey, folks! Yesterday, I was browsing through a nearby Goodwill's decrepit electronics section, when I stumbled upon something very interesting: a Fujifilm camera. Specifically, it was a Finepix S2000HD. I'd been interested in trying a Fuji for a while, so I figured this wasn't a bad use of $15. Here's how it went...
My first impressions: This camera is surprisingly feature-rich. It has a proper manual shooting mode. It also has a 10 megapixel 1/2.3 inch CCD sensor. The integrated lens supports up to 15x optical zoom, which isn't too shabby. Best of all, it has an electronic viewfinder! Not bad for a little bridge camera from 2009. It's also nice that it runs off of 4 AA batteries and can take any SD card up to 32 GB.

This Fuji is very compact, making it great for casual shooting. |
After shooting with this camera for a day, I have a couple of thoughts. The colors are beautiful, and the CCD provides that classic digicam look. The photos this camera takes don't look super modern, and they certainly pale in comparison to my Rebel T7 in terms of sharpness, but don't be fooled; this camera can take some beautiful photos.
On that note, here are some of the photos I've taken with it so far. I made some minor edits to them, but they should give a pretty good idea of what this camera is capable of.

A dedicated macro setting and that powerful zoom lens enables some cool close-up shots with pleasing bokeh. |

CCDs can produce some very nice colors. I understand why people are saying CCDs are the new film. |

Another example of some cool blur. |

This one was just funny. Definitely has that vintage look to it. |

There was traffic as far as I could see, so I took this photo (without even looking at the camera) while waiting in the intersection. It turned out surprisingly well, all things considered. |

Neon pineapple with an abundance of swag. |

Love the colors in this one. |

Check out this cool neon reflection! |
Overall, I'm quite pleased with this Fuji camera. It's nothing super special, but it's capable of taking some rather nice photos. With that in mind, I have a feeling that this won't be the last you see of this camera on my blog. Stay tuned.
For now, thanks for reading, and have a good one.
