Compliment Moi for iOS v1.1 is here!

Hey, everyone! I recently released an update for the Android version of Compliment Moi, and the iOS version is now getting the same treatment! Version 1.1 introduces an exciting new feature and makes numerous improvements to the app. Here's what's new: Want your compliments to be read aloud? You can now enable text-to-speech to do just that! Added a settings menu where you can enable or disable text-to-speech and view app information. Fixed some bugs. You can get the latest version of Compliment Moi for iOS from the App Store .   I hope you like it!

ComplimentMe for Android is now Compliment Moi!

Hey, everyone! With the release of the iOS version of ComplimentMe, now called "Compliment Moi", I introduced a new name for the app. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to create an app on the App Store called "ComplimentMe," so I just came up with a different name. However, this was confusing because Compliment Moi's Android counterpart was still called ComplimentMe. So, I have released an update that changes ComplimentMe's name to Compliment Moi on Android as well. It's still the same app you know and (hopefully) enjoy, just with an ever so slightly different name. Anyway, you can get this update from the Play Store . Enjoy! One more thing: Future blog posts regarding the Android version of Compliment Moi will only be under the "Android" and "Compliment Moi" labels. The "ComplimentMe" label will be retired after this post.

I made a custom iPod. Should you?

I made a custom iPod. Should you? The goal of this post is to share my experience modding this retro audio player and help you decide if you should attempt this project, too. While this isn't the sort of thing I usually write about on this blog, my hope is that this post will be helpful to those interested in building a custom iPod. So, without further ado, let's begin! The Backstory With the rise of DankPods , modding iPods has quickly become quite popular among retro tech enthusiasts. As someone who had been using iPods for several years prior to their resurgence in popularity, I was intrigued by the idea of making my own custom iPod. This was especially true since I had a broken iPod Video that I could easily mod. Then, something completely unexpected happened: the pandemic. I quickly realized that this would be a great project to work on during the lockdown. As a result, within days of everything shutting down, I had ordered all my replacement parts and prepared

3 years, 2 iOS apps, and a new site

In March of 2018, I wrote my first Tectra program. It was a basic web browser called Satin Web, and it was the first thing I made with C# and Windows Forms. It is now March 2021, three years later, and I am very excited to announce that the next chapter for Tectra is here. After hours of work, I have finally completed my first two iOS apps and have created a new site from scratch to go along with them. There is a lot to cover, so let's begin! iOS Apps TaskNudge TaskNudge is the first of my two iOS apps. It's pretty simple but very handy! Essentially, it lets you write a single, short-term task and get notified to complete it every 1-60 minutes, depending on what you choose. If you are easily distracted when you use your devices, have trouble remembering to do things, or need a bit of a nudge to get something done, TaskNudge might just be the app for you! Best of all, TaskNudge is very simple and easy to use, while being more useful than something like a timer or alarm. Once you

Plans for March 2021!

It's hard to believe that March 2021 is here! As usual, I have some plans and goals for the month, and I'll be going over them in this post. Just keep in mind that they may be subject to change! Violoncello Update(s) As seems to be the tradition at this point, I hope to release at least one update for the Android version of Violoncello this month! I have some neat ideas for things to add, so I hope to work on it very soon. Additionally, if I have time, I would like to release an update for the Windows version of Violoncello. I'm not sure if this will work out, but we'll see. iOS Plans As many of you know, I've also been working on some iOS projects lately! Originally, I had intended to have one complete iOS app ready for when I got my developer license. However, I decided I wanted to finish another app before I spent the money. As a result, I am now working on my second iOS app. I've already made some significant progress on it, and my other app is basically com
