Sunset Pics - Sep 1, 2024

Image
Hey, folks! I've got a very quick post for today. I just went on a drive and took some pictures on my Canon 10D. This is a DSLR from 2003, and it's still capable of taking some nice images. I paired it with a period-accurate Canon 28-80mm lens for the full retro experience. With that in mind, here are my favorite shots from tonight's adventure: The classic sunset pic. Nature vs. the fence. Summer embodied in one image. It's very pink. Non-colorized version of the last picture. Time flies when you're having fun. I hope you liked the pics! Thanks for checking them out, and happy snapping.

Fuji S2000HD Photo Dump and Impressions

Image
Hey, folks! Yesterday, I was browsing through a nearby Goodwill's decrepit electronics section, when I stumbled upon something very interesting: a Fujifilm camera. Specifically, it was a Finepix S2000HD. I'd been interested in trying a Fuji for a while, so I figured this wasn't a bad use of $15. Here's how it went... My first impressions: This camera is surprisingly feature-rich. It has a proper manual shooting mode. It also has a 10 megapixel 1/2.3 inch CCD sensor. The integrated lens supports up to 15x optical zoom, which isn't too shabby. Best of all, it has an electronic viewfinder! Not bad for a little bridge camera from 2009. It's also nice that it runs off of 4 AA batteries and can take any SD card up to 32 GB. This Fuji is very compact, making it great for casual shooting. After shooting with this camera for a day, I have a couple of thoughts. The colors are beautiful, and the CCD provides that classic digicam look. The photos this camera takes don...

Denver (Indiana) Photo Dump

Image
Hi, folks! This evening, I went on a little drive to a small town in Indiana called Denver. It doesn't have a whole lot going on, but it's a beautiful place. Rural Indiana is a great place for photography, and I think these photos reflect that. Check them out! Thought I'd use my spare telephoto lens to add interest to this shot "THIS IS NOT A DUMP" lol Look at that lens flare! Love the lighting in this one Lighting is also incredible in this one This photo has an otherworldly quality to it Just a serene country scene Wildflower take 1 Wildflower take 2 Flowers by the fence More flowers by the fence The ultimate country view I hope you liked the pictures! Thanks for stopping by. Camera: Canon Rebel T7 Lens: Canon 55-250mm telephoto (EF-S mount)

Elk Rapids Photo Dump - July 2024

Image
Hey, everyone! I just got back from a road trip to Elk Rapids, Michigan, which means I have some new photos to share. Several of these were taken on the shore of Lake Michigan. I'm not sure where the plastic eye came from, but it sure was a cool subject! Admittedly, some of these photos were taken in Indiana, but the lake pictures were all Michigan. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy! Cool reflection. Love the colors in this one. Climbing under the bridge was somewhat involved, but it allowed for a cool perspective. I like the colors in this one, too. Interesting textures and blur in this one. A beautiful Indiana scene. Eye portrait. Alternate eye portrait. Check out the blur on this one! Those are the photos! I hope you liked them, and thanks for stopping by. Camera:  Canon Rebel T7 Lens:  Canon 55-250mm telephoto (EF-S mount)

Dusk Pictures - Jun 29, 2024

Image
Hey, folks. I just wanted to share a few photos I got today at sunset. I used a Canon Rebel T7 with various Canon lenses. In the interest of preserving the dusk colors, these photos have zero edits. I know this isn't exactly a formal photography post, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. :) This one's a little experimental. Incredible colors. This one is delightfully goofy. More incredible colors. This could make a cool desktop wallpaper or something. Very dramatic. More light experimentation in Bulb mode. This is how it looked in real life. It was a fantastic sunset.

Late June Photo Dump

Image
Hi, everyone! It's been a little while since I last posted, but in my defense, I've been rather busy. I got home from Italy, bought a new car, and went to college orientation in the span of less than two weeks! Now that I have a spare moment, I thought I'd share my last few pictures from Italy (taken on my Sony DSC-H90) and some photos I got of my new Corolla (taken on my Canon Rebel T7). Enough talk, here are the pics! Waves (as seen from ferry) Amalfi cathedral This looks like it's out of an old textbook! My new Corolla hanging out with a school bus Nature at Pompei (original) Nature at Pompei (with vignette) Flowers at Pompei Another picture from Pompei Corolla with subtle background blur Beautiful scenery paired with a beautiful car Cool reflections in this one I hope you enjoyed these photos, and stay tuned for more! Until next time.
