3/29/2019

Hello everybody! I am happy to report that I have recovered from the flu. I've been hard at work programming over the last week, so this will be a pretty exciting weekly update!

Weekly Update Updates

I have decided to make some changes to the Weekly Update. The Weekly Update will now be posted every Friday, rather than every Wednesday. Additionally, I will be making some small changes to the style of the Weekly Update.

The Tectra Writer

Good news! I have released a new program! Meet the Tectra Writer. This is a basic word processor, similar to the Windows Notepad. It is still in its very early stages, but it will be improved in future updates.
You can check out the Tectra Writer here.

Lynx 1.7

Lynx 1.7 is here! This update improves upon the design of Lynx, and makes some small, under the hood improvements. You can learn more by visiting the Lynx page.

Circumference calculator version 1.3

I have released version 1.3 of my circumference calculator! This update makes some minor improvements and fixes some bugs. You can check out version 1.3 of the Circumference Calculator here.

The Conclusion

It's been a busy week at Tectra! Thanks for tuning in on the Weekly Update. See you next Friday!

What's in John's Backpack? (EDC)

I may no longer be a computer science major, but I'm still fascinated by electronics of all kinds. That's why I take great pleasure in writing about my "everyday carry," that being the devices that I regularly take along with me. These are often being swapped around, as I am an enthusiast at heart, but some of these have stuck around for a long time. So, here's the list: Phone: iPhone 15 Pro (128 GB) It's a very nice phone. This laptop has gotten me through college thus far, and I'm hoping I won't have to replace it for a few more years. Watch: Apple Watch SE (the newest one) I swear that this i...

As cool as instant photography was, I accepted that it wasn't economically viable for me and moved on. ...Until about a month ago! On one of my first dates with my girlfriend, she introduced me to her Fujifilm Instax Mini 11. It was a much more compact and modern instant camera than my Polaroid. It also used smaller film slides. This was a big deal, as she informed me that the smaller film came at a smaller price. I was intrigued. A couple weeks later, I ventured to Walmart and splurged. I picked up the cheapest Instax they sold: The Mini SE. It only cost about $57, and it came bundled with 10 slides of film. I also picked up an ...
